It's with very heavy heart that I write this post. I just learned yesterday that Brian McElhatton, a very dear and wonderful friend, passed away. He battled cancer for the last year and a half and it finally claimed his young life.
I had the great privilege of meeting Brian while living in San Francisco. He was the most charming, witty Irish man I've ever met. He charmed me with his accent from the moment I met him. He leaves an enormous hole in many hearts as he will be sadly missed.
So, Brian, here's to you, my dear old friend. I love you DB.

I just heard the news and am terribly sad. I've known Brian since back in the days when the Dovre was at it's original location. I've spent many good times with him and he will be missed. Do you know when and where any services will be held?

I am also very saddened by this news. Brian was a dear dear friend and a gallant character to say the least! I will remember and cherish that time in my life forever.
There will be a service at St Philip's Church in the mission on Saturday 1/12 at 10am.
Sabrina - wonderful to hear from you. I'm only sorry they're under these circumstances. I'm very sad that I'm unable to attend the service on Saturday due to some family obligations. However, I'm planning a trip to San Francisco in the next few weeks so I can say a proper goodbye to Brian. If you're in the area I'd love to see you as well. Please send me your contact information.
